Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; his predecessor, Ibikunle Amosun; and a faction of All Progressives Congress loyal to the former governor have expressed sadness over the death of an APC chieftain in the state, Otunba Olajide Awosedo.
Awosedo, who was the Chairman of Grant Property Limited, died on Tuesday at the age of 68.
Abiodun in a condolence message issued in Abeokuta by his Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin, expressed shock at the death of the frontline politician and businessman.
Abiodun said, “It was with shock that the news of the death of Revd. Olajide Awosedo was received by the state government.
“We are pained that such a gentleman-politician was lost at this hour when his services would have complemented those of other compatriots to reposition Ogun State for greater height.”
In his message signed by his former special adviser on Information and Strategy, Rotimi Durojaiye, Amosun who is the Senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, described the deceased as a great politician who left an indelible mark not only in Ogun State but across Nigeria.
He said “I believed that Otunba Awosedo’s place in posterity has already been assured by his long and worthy service to his people and Ogun State as well as his notable contributions to the development of his community, state and country as a leading businessman, politician, and inspirational community leader.”
