APC postpones caucus, NEC meetings indefinitely

The All Progressives Congress has postponed indefinitely its National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings scheduled for April 24 and 25 respectively.

This development was contained in a statement by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, in Abuja on Thursday.

The statement read, “The National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings of the All Progressives Congress, scheduled for April 24 and 25, 2017, respectively have been postponed.

“The postponement is due to unexpected developments. New dates for the meetings will be communicated in due course.”

Although no specific reason was given for the postponement, it was gathered that paucity of funds as well as “tension” within the party were largely responsible for the postponement.

A highly-placed member of the party, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak with the media, said, “You will recall that the issue of the poor state of our party’s finances and some of the skirmishes between some of our prominent party members on the one hand and party leaders in some of the states we control still persist.”
